Renaissance Remodeling Honored With Big50 Award

jpeg version.jpgBoise, Idaho – May 25, 2010 – Chad Vincent, president of Renaissance Remodeling, Inc., has been selected by Remodeling magazine to join the Remodeling Big50. The Big50 awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Remodeling Leadership Conference in Alexandria, Va., on May 14, 2010. The 2010 Big50 winners are featured in the May issue of Remodeling, a national trade publication read by more than 80,000 professional remodeling contractors.

Each year since 1986, the Remodeling Big50 inducts the owners of 50 remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship, and impact in their community or the industry at large. Big50 remodelers run successful, often growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards.

The Big50 selection process has become increasingly rigorous in recent years, and the result is one of the strongest classes to date. All 2010 inductees stood up to detailed examinations of their businesses and their books, and they all demonstrated an admirably deft ability to restructure, retrench, and hustle to remain viable in a challenging economic climate.

“We are very honored to receive this distinction,” says Chad Vincent, president of Renaissance Remodeling. “The award recognizes excellence and leadership, and we are privileged to be named to this select group of remodelers.”

Remodeling editors, columnists, industry leaders, and the companies themselves make the nominations each year. Following a lengthy evaluation and interview process, the editors select the owners of 50 companies that exemplify the best of the industry that year. Winners are selected in these categories: business savvy, fine design, industry impact, market wise, movers & shakers, niches, sales & marketing, and teamwork. Vincent was selected for the category of Teamwork. This category recognizes companies whose employees work together effectively to achieve more than the sum of their individual work.

Remodeling magazine, published by Hanley Wood Business Media, is the leading publication in the home improvement industry. Designed to address the specific concerns of residential remodeling pros, the magazine is both a business tool and an industry leader for a market that topped $300 billion in 2008. Boise Contractors Complete EPA Lead-Safe Certification

Jim Vincent and Dan Barker completed EPA Lead-Safe Certification in March 2010. Lead-Safe Certification is federally mandated under the EPA Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule.RRP reqires any contractor who disrupts more than six square feet of lead paint in pre-1978 homes, schools, day care centers and other places where children spend time to be certified.

"Keeping families safe during renovations has always been a priority for us," said Chad Vincent, president of Renaissance Remodeling. "Being EPA Lead-Safe Certified adds to those precautions we already take to minimize dust and maintain a clean, safe work environment."

Boise's Big Give Construction Begins

Renaissance Remodeling and friends began renovations of the Abrego home in Nampa on October 17, 2009. The Abregos were selected to receive up to $25,000 in home repairs and remodeling through Boise's Big Give, a program started this year by Chad Vincent and Renaissance Remodeling. The project is expected to be completed in mid-November. Here's a wonderful clip from FOX News Ch 12 that aired recently.

Two Families Selected to Receive up to $25,000 in Remodeling

On September 2, 2009, Renaissance Remodeling of Boise, Idaho, announced the two families that would receive the benefits of Boise's Big Give, a program developed to help families in need through the donation of remodeling services. The recipients include the Abrego family of Nampa, Idaho, and the Davies family of Boise. Both families need renovations to their homes to accommodate handicapped family members.

"My family inspired me to create this program. My parents--Jim and Gail Vincent--were models of generosity throughout my life and have shown me the value of giving back to the community," says Chad Vincent, president of Renaissance Remodeling. "This program is especially timely given the economy and the additional hardships families are facing. I'm proud of the many other companies and individuals who have come forward to help, even as they face their own challenges in this economy."

A kick-off event was held at Ferguson's Kitchen & Bath. More than 50 people attended, including the recipients and their families and nominators, co-sponsors of the event, contractors, tradespeople, and members of the program selection committee.

The Abrego family will receive a complete bathroom renovation to fix and replace earlier work that was not performed properly and to install handicapped accessible bathroom fixtures for 18-year-old Cassie who is severely disabled.

 The Davies Family

For the Davies family, Renaissance Remodeling, with the help of its co-sponsors, suppliers and trades people, will build an addition to accommodate the needs of Laurie Davies, who suffered severe brain damage in an automobile accident several years ago.  Laurie is completely unable to care for herself.

There were many other worthy families that can still be helped. Many of the projects nominated for Boise's Big Give were smaller  jobs that could be done by one or two tradespeople.
